"Women are starting more businesses than ever before and their financial power is important," says Carol Bagnald, HSBC regional commercial director for London – campaign sponsor and one of the judges. "It's encouraging to see how many high-profile women are now on the business world stage. This isn't about gender diversity but leadership styles. Congratulations to the women leading the way with their entrepreneurial spirit, inspiring others to do the same."

Mhairi comments: “I’m honoured to be named as one of the finalists in this campaign by the Institute of Directors but it’s by no means an individual effort. We’ve worked extremely hard as a team for the past 14 years growing from 3 to over 170 people servicing our clients across over 60 counties. I would like to acknowledge my other partners and our fantastic team – both men and women - who’ve created the flexible yet high performance culture Brand Learning has today.”
