Business Secretary Vince Cable MP visits Brand Learning offices
Brand Learning played host to the Business Secretary, Vince Cable MP for Twickenham who opened the company's refurbished and extended riverside offices in Hampton Wick on Friday 5th November 2010.
The refurbishment follows Brand Learning’s considerable growth in recent years: from a local start up with only 3 employees in 2000, to a recession-busting turnover of £12.5 million today, up 50% over last year, and a team of almost 80 employees plus 40 consultants.
The company has picked up a host of accolades, including being awarded No 3 in The Sunday Times 100 Best Companies 2010 and the maximum ‘3-star Best Companies’ accreditation every year for the past 3 years. In 2008, Brand Learning won the Marketing Society’s Grand Prix across all categories for its work with client AkzoNobel (formerly ICI), the 2009 Marketing Excellence Award for Marketing Capabilities with its client Shell and was a Finalist in Marketing Week’s ‘Marketing Services Agency of The Year’ 2010 Engage Awards.
Brand Learning’s passion is to transform the marketing capabilities and commercial performance of people, teams and organizations across the world, working with over 50 blue-chip multinational clients including Unilever, Shell, Tesco, Astra Zeneca and Aviva. Over 50% of its business is sourced outside the UK and it runs workshops and events in over 40 different countries.
Mhairi McEwan, Brand Learning’s co-founder and joint MD, comments: “There is a growing recognition of the importance of excellent marketing in driving business growth and a hunger for developing these vital business skills which is underpinning our rapid growth. Dr Cable is a powerful advocate for business success both locally as our MP and nationally as Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills. We are delighted to welcome Dr Cable so he can see first-hand how important it is to support the entrepreneurial spirit in SMEs that is very much alive, creating jobs and thriving in the UK today.”
