Brand Learning recognised for its commitment to working families

Brand Learning Recognised for its Commitment to Working FamiliesBrand Learning is proud to announce that we’ve been shortlisted for The Top Family Friendly SMEs award sponsored by in association with the Top Employers for Working Families 2013. These Awards, founded by Working Families in partnership with the Institute for Employment Studies, recognise employers who support parents, carers and flexible workers with work-life balance and career development.

Brand Learning have continually been able to recruit and retain top-tier directors through a commitment to work-life balance in a uniquely ‘adult’ culture centred on trust and positive intent – the heart of which lies in flexible work practices. Working parents make up 48% of Brand Learning employees, and the company has always operated with particular sensitivity to meet the specific needs of this group, ensuring nobody is ‘held back’ when it comes to progressing their careers. Talent management is centred on promotion through performance and this has resulted in promotions prior, during and on return from maternity leave.

Daniel Gillborn, Director of Childcarescheme, sponsor of the SME Benchmark said, “Childcarescheme is proud to have partnered with Working Families to engage with SME businesses via a new and innovative benchmarking process. Highlighting the importance of the provision of flexible working policies is hugely important to SME employers. The top 10 SMEs in this category have proved how successful smaller businesses can be at achieving the appropriate balance between work and family life. I'd like to extend a huge congratulation to these organisations”

Chief Operating Officer at Brand Leaning, Michele McGrath says, “We feel that we truly understand the link between flexibility, engagement, wellbeing and performance. We see our ‘flexible working policies’ as vital to our effectiveness as a business and very much hope our experience can also be useful for much larger organisations including our multinational clients. We are always very happy to share our best practice ways of working and learnings and it’s fantastic for us to receive the recognition for our efforts in making Brand Learning an excellent place of work, particularly for those that have to juggle family priorities.”
