Group Sales Capability Director
Paul joined Brand Learning at the beginning of 2015 having spent the previous 17 years at Johnson & Johnson, AkzoNobel and ICI (Dulux Paints). Paul is a collaborative commercially-oriented sales professional with extensive experience in developing Sales Strategy & Capability at a global and local level.
He began his career in the consumer division of Johnson & Johnson, where he held various positions across Field Sales, Category Management & Key Account Management, and led a cross functional category team.
Paul went on to join Dulux (ICI) Paints in the UK as part of the transformation of the Key Accounts team, and shortly after went on to lead a significant Customer team. He became Sales Director for Retail in the UK leading the Customer, Category, and Field Operations Teams. After taking a development role in Supply Chain leading the Logistics function in the UK Paul was appointed Global Commercial Excellence Director where he led the development of the Sales function.
As Commercial Excellence Director, he worked with local markets across Europe, Asia & Africa to develop the capabilities of the business in the areas of Category Management, Key Customer Management (including IKAM), Pricing & Margin Management (incl. RGM), Customer Services, Sales Channel Excellence (B2C & B2B), Retail Store Excellence, and Sales Force Automation.
Paul leads the development of capability strategy and the delivery of capability programmes for Brand Learning clients in a diverse range of sectors including CPG, Oil & Chemicals, Healthcare, & Pharmaceuticals. He is also part of our Thought Leadership team.
Paul is a graduate of Sheffield Business School with a BA in Business Studies which included a year with Esso Petroleum.
Married with two daughters and a passionate sportsman, he is a football coach and was part of a cycling team that took part in the Ride Across Britain in 2014. He enjoys spending time cooking, listening to music, and is learning to play the guitar.
